Happiness is considered very important in life. Why is it difficult to define? What factors are important in achieving happiness?
The state of being happy or joyful is essential in our lives. This concept means different things to different people, and there is no universal definition for it. However, this essay will examine some relevant factors in attaining happiness.
Perceptions of happiness vary from one person to another. Like love and wealth, being happy does not have a unified definition because our understanding of these phenomena differs. As such, we tend to give meanings to suit our personal ideologies per time. For instance, while some people say happiness is the sweet feeling of accomplishment in their respective careers, others say good health is the only thing that makes them happy in life.
Several factors are vital in achieving happiness, ranging from emotional; some people say loving someone and being loved genuinely in return makes them satisfied. Physical; most people believe that material possessions improve their moods. Psychological; to others, staying positive and hopeful boosts their overall confidence. Indeed, everyone experiences both positive and negative emotions, feelings and moods, but a great deal of balance of these emotions is equivalent to a person’s aura at all times.
Furthermore, how satisfied a person feels with different areas of his or her life, including relationships, career advancements, family, health, and other significant things, plays a major role in determining how happy and fulfilled they are and will always be in life.
In conclusion, happiness is generally linked to experiencing more positive feelings, especially that of contentment, than negative. The balance of all human emotions and life satisfaction are key factors in staying happy, feeling happy and living a happy life.
