Some Think that Governments Should Tax Unhealthy Foods to Encourage People

Some think that governments should tax unhealthy foods to encourage people to eat healthier. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is true that the laws never be evil and to make people’s lives smooth. A number of individuals feel that in order to stimulate citizens to make healthy foods, the authority should have to impose tax charges on unhealthy items. I disagree with the given notion, and my inclination will be justified in the following paragraphs and a logical conclusion.

There are various reasons why banning or escalating tax would not be effective. First and foremost, in this contemporary era, most people have a hectic work schedule; for that reason, they prefer convenience foods despite knowing that it is unhealthy and contains less nutrition. It saves time for them from cooking homemade so, in case authorities raise taxes, there is less chance that they squander eating this kind of dishes. Secondly, the Health of any person is not only determined by their diet, and there are several others ways which aid to being healthier. Exercise is one of them and plays a vital role. As a result, the government have to encourage people to do regular exercise like jogging and yoga by holding awareness camp in a different part of the country. Finally, a plethora of people are connected with the food industry, and this change will affect them and their families. Among many of them, livelihood is dependent on it; hence, it might be forge unemployment in the region.

However, it is a well-known fact that the price of junk foods will be grown after the rising tax charge on it. Thus, a myriad of people, especially the common man, think twice before purchasing expensive edibles, which aid them in shifting toward a healthy diet.

In conclusion, it is a debating question of what the administration has to do so people live healthily. In my view, a surging tax on unhealthy meals would become effective in some cases, but it might have a harmful side effect on others.
