The table depicts consumer durables such as telephone, refrigerator, central heating, video, vacuum cleaner, washing machine, dishwasher, television owned in Britain from 1972 to 1983.

It is significant from the table that television had the highest consuming gadget, followed by the refrigerator, the vacuum cleaner was next, washing machine, telephone, central heating, dishwasher and video followed in that sequential order in the years under consideration. It is also interesting to note that there was no household with a video appliance from 1972 to 1982. There was increased usage of all devices throughout the period.

Television usage recorded 769 being the highest, followed by the refrigerator, vacuum cleaner, washing machine, telephone, central heating, dishwasher and video recording 705, 642, 591, 501, 420, 19, and 18, respectively.
