Some People Feel that Certain Workers Like Nurses, Doctors, and Teachers Are Undervalued (1)

Some people feel that certain workers like nurses, doctors, and teachers are undervalued and should be paid more, especially when other people like film actors or company bosses are paid huge sums of money that are out of proportion to the importance of the work that they do. How far do you agree? What criteria should be used to decide how much people are paid?

A common opinion is that health care and education employees should be compensated hefty. There is a general feeling that these professionals are underpaid as compared to the celebrities and people on high position corporate jobs. I disagree with this, and in this essay, I would argue that this is not completely true.

On the one hand, apart from honing their talents, film actors work really hard to get to the position, fame, and remuneration. Also, to scale to the chief position of a company requires proving oneself with talent, knowledge, experience, and most importantly, leadership skills, and finally, by delivering the results. In both the above cases, it is not easy to stay on the top. Uncertainty is always surrounded; therefore, usually, shelf-life is associated with such positions. Hence they deserved to be paid huge amounts for a probable short stint.

On the other hand, the importance of medical and education professionals can not be undermined as they are the foundation of our societies. Although some of these professionals are able to earn huge amounts as well, as a heart surgeon in a popular private hospital would earn a significant service fee. Also, many teachers working with or running private specialised coaching institutes are able to earn big money in a short while. It can not be denied that all of them are as lucky. Measures should be taken to establish a baseline for remuneration based on the criticality of the job and dependency of their service on society. Furthermore, the Government should ensure that these workers are paid enough to be self-sustained.

In conclusion, health and education staff are critical to humankind and should be compensated sufficiently. Whereas, I believe that film artists and honchos deserve what they are being paid.
