Universities Should Accept Equal Numbers of Male and Female Students: Writing Task 2

Universities Should Accept Equal Numbers of Male and Female Students Writing Task 2

Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Education is the right of each and every individual residing in the nation. There is a significant dissimilarity between the number of boys and girls pupils in the universities. Some people believe that universities should accept an equal amount of male and female students, but I contradict this thought as it would not be feasible to fill seats based on gender.

Firstly, the institutions should conduct an entrance exam for different streams to get admission, and students should be admitted based on their exam scores as well as past education in high school. The higher the score, the chances would increase. For example, for admission to engineering courses, students should be required to appear for maths and physics exams. Furthermore, every pupil should be evaluated based on their grades in primary and secondary school and age, whether he or she has taken 15 years of education. Through this, the university can identify whether a student will be able to pursue a particular course or not.

Secondly, the educational entity should organize a personal interview with the help of faculty members as well as an alumnus. Each boy and girl can be judged on their skills such as communication, mathematical skill, logical reasoning, thinking ability and many more through one-to-one communication with them. Moreover, their extracurriculars should also be considered in the admission process. For example, a student participating in international Olympiads would be preferable to other students.

To conclude, I believe that gender should not be the criteria for enrolment in colleges. People should try to understand the importance of students’ hard work rather than gender.
