In the modern era, the life expectancy of developed nations is increasing, which is a positive trend, but it negatively affects individuals and society. In this essay, I will discuss the issues of positive trends and solutions to tackle this issue.

On the one hand, there are some problems that will occur due to the increasing life expectancy of elderly people. First of all, The increase in life expectancy negatively affects the economy. To elaborate, Government have to pay more pensions to elderly people. As a result, the Government can’t fulfil all facilities for the public like a good education and health system. Another issue is that Government has to allocate more funds to the health sector to provide good medical facilities to elderly people to cure their illnesses. Moreover, youngsters have to take care of their elders more to protect them from any problems.

On the other side, there are some solutions to sort the increasing life expectancy related issues. The primary solution to sort out this is to increase the retirement age. At the current time, the average retirement age is 55. I think the Government should fix the age of 60 for every employee’s retirement, which helps to reduce pension funds for elders. Moreover, the Regime can encourage other young country citizens to study or work in developed nations, which helps to boost the economy and fulfil the demand of employees in different fields.

In conclusion, the increase in the life expectancy of elders has a bad effect on the economy, but it can be sorted out by enhancing the retirement age.
